volunteer opportunities

Please sign up for a volunteer time slot to help with the games and activities. These events are only possible with wonderful volunteers like you!

The “Adopt-A-Book” program is a wonderful way to say thank you to your student's favorite teacher, to celebrate your graduate, or to honor a loved one "in memoriam" while supporting Independence's Founders' Library. When you “Adopt-A-Book,” a dedication is attached to the inside front cover, which allows your tribute to be seen by everyone who borrows the book.

Follow the steps below to complete your adoption:

  1. Click here to browse the books (by reading level) that are available to adopt
  2. Click here to select a book to adopt (you will be redirected to a SignUpGenius page)
  3. Click here for the "Adopt-A-Book" order form, with bookplate dedications
