In sharing the news with us, Kennedy Marie's mother wrote, "Kennedy Marie has had many phenomenal educators and mentors along her journey, and she credits The Independence School for preparing her for high school and beyond, instilling and encouraging her passion for English and writing, and stimulating her intellectual curiosity."

As a Marshall Scholar, Kennedy Marie will attend the University of Bristol to pursue a one-year Masters degree program followed by a Doctorate degree at another UK institution.

"Marshall Scholarships finance young Americans of high ability to study for a degree in the United Kingdom. Up to fifty Scholars are selected each year to study at graduate level at an UK institution in any field of study." (marshallscholarship.org)

All of us at Independence are very proud of Kennedy Marie and wish her continued success!
