Financial Aid Program

Making Independence affordable to those who wish to attend remains an important goal. We are fortunate to be able to provide tuition assistance for students with demonstrated need through our Financial Aid Program.

Financial Aid is available for students in Early Childhood I through eighth grade, and all awards are distributed in a fair and equitable manner. Financial Aid is not a loan but rather a reduction in tuition. It gets granted one year at a time, and recipients reapply each year. If interested in Financial Aid, we encourage you to apply as early in the process as possible since our funds are limited and we may not be able to provide aid to all eligible students. Additionally, we try to assist as many families as possible so we may not be able to cover the full need for each family.

How Applications Are Processed

Independence uses the services of FACTS Management, an online provider, to process financial aid applications. FACTS does not decide whether financial aid will be given or how much to give; rather, FACTS provides a need-based financial aid analysis service that includes a recommendation of what a family should reasonably contribute toward tuition. All information submitted to the provider is kept confidential. The Financial Aid Committee reviews each application and notifies families of the award decision.

To submit an application for Financial Aid, please click on the button below. To be considered in the first round of decisions, we ask that applications, with supporting documents, be submitted by January 15, 2024.

It is recommended that applications be submitted by December 20 and all supporting tax documents be submitted as soon as available (prior year tax returns, current year W2 statement, and pay stubs for each income earner). For completed files, the first round of decisions will begin in mid-January.
