Volunteer Opportunities

The kind of exceptional educational experience that we provide at Independence is only possible when our faculty, students, and parents go above and beyond. Giving back is at the heart of what makes the Independence community an extraordinary place for our students. As an Independence parent, there are many opportunities for you to share your time and talent through the Independence Parents' Association (IPA).

Over the years, the IPA has raised and donated thousands of dollars by organizing and carrying out fundraising and outreach activities, which have supported enhancements such as special field trips, educational and cultural speakers and programs, yearbooks, and iPad carts. In addition, the IPA established and manages our lunch program and sponsors initiatives such as school picture days and fun family events, both on campus and in the community. Through all of these exciting opportunities and many others, members of the IPA foster a closer relationship among students, faculty, and staff to further strengthen the Independence education.

Whether you have just an hour to spare or lots of time, we can find a volunteer opportunity that is right for you and will directly benefit our students. We welcome your participation.

If you have any questions about the IPA or how you can help, please contact the Development Office at 302-239-0330. If you are interested in volunteering, please email: indyipa@indyde.org

There are so many ways to get involved and make a difference. My children love seeing me volunteer and be a part of their school. One thing is for sure, we are all in it for the children and that’s part of what makes Indy so special.
