We are pleased to announce the appointment of two new members to The Independence School Board of Trustees: Mr. Derek Anderson and Mr. David Lyons, Jr. 

Derek Anderson

Derek is a Global Finance Director at The Chemours Company, a publicly traded chemical manufacturer headquartered in Wilmington, where he has spent over a decade in a variety of business finance and strategy roles. Derek's career began at Goldman Sachs in New York City. Derek is a graduate of Georgetown University and the Villanova University School of Business. Derek and his wife, Charlotte, are the proud parents of two Independence students (‘33 and ‘35) and one future Independence student (‘38).

David Lyons

David Lyons, Jr. is a Senior Vice President at NFP, an Aon company, where he advises private and public companies, as well as nonprofit organizations, on risk management, insurance, and strategic planning. With more than 15 years of industry experience, he works closely with executive teams and boards of directors to help organizations navigate complex challenges and achieve their long-term objectives. A 2010 graduate of the University of Delaware, Dave has also served on numerous nonprofit and community boards throughout Delaware. Dave and his wife, Anne, are the proud parents of two Independence students in the Classes of ’32 and ’34.
