- Middle School
At the end of the school year, the 8th grade students are challenged to design and build a car powered solely by a mousetrap, with a goal of traveling at least five meters. This hands-on science project, spanning six to seven class periods introduces key physics concepts. Students, working alone or in pairs, have a $5 material budget and adhere to strict rules—no additional power sources or modified mousetraps allowed. Following the build, our students put their cars to the test and compete against each other!
This year, Darren and Shourya won first place with the fastest car overall and Mia and Catherine secured second place.
The cars that traveled the farthest were built by the team of Trent and Austin, and Colton.
Congratulations to the winners and all who participated in this fun and innovative event!
