Mathletes Win Big at the State Mathcounts Competition!

On Wednesday, fourteen of our talented students competed in the State Mathcounts Competition at the University of Delaware. Each student participated as an individual, with four also representing Independence as part of our official team. We commend all these students on their dedication and abilities, as much preparation is done outside of school.

After three rounds of questions, Indy's team of four, Brian, Caroline, Joseph, and Tim, placed first! Joseph also secured 2nd place overall, and Caroline finished 5th among individual competitors! With his impressive performance, Joseph has earned a spot in the National Competition in Washington, D.C., on May 10!

All of our students represented Independence well, showing maturity and respectful behavior during their competition. Congratulations to 8th graders Ben, Brian, Caroline, Joseph, Nate, and Ned, and 7th graders Andrew, Cole, Ethan, Martha, Riko, Terry, Tim, and Vivienne. Way to go, Mathletes!
