Mapping the World by Hand: 6th Grade Brings Geography to Life

Over the last month, 6th grade brought their geography curriculum to life through an impressive world mapping project. Starting with blank boards, students built each map entirely by hand, carefully constructing a grid of latitude and longitude lines to ensure accurate scale. Using a sample map as their guide, they outlined continents, added countries and key physical features, then labeled everything with precision.

From continents to capitals, students charted it all, strengthening their understanding of geography, world regions, and global connections along the way. The level of detail in their work is truly impressive, reflecting both patience and deep engagement with the material.

Check out their impressive results below.
