Making an Impact Through Community Service

This November, as part of the Character Development Program, our 6th and 7th grade students completed their in-school hour of community service. Each group was tasked with coming up with their activity and executing it. See below for a few examples.

Within Our School:

  • Vibrant posters were created featuring motivational quotes to encourage their peers to accomplish their goals that will be displayed in our halls.
  • Students crafted thoughtful "Thankful For You" cards for their teachers.
  • A group of students offered a helping hand to our ECII teachers, assisting with the time-consuming task of tracing and cutting out materials for fall crafts.

Across The Globe:

  • Two CDP groups organized a meaningful post-Halloween initiative to support troops overseas: a middle school leftover candy collection food drive. In just two days, over 60 lbs of candy was collected and donated to "Treats for Troops."
  • Pop-up Thanksgiving cards were created that will be distributed to a local hospital.
  • As part of the nonprofit Cards for Hospitalized Kids (CFHK), students created holiday/winter cards to spread joy and magic to children facing challenging times.

These acts of service are just a glimpse into the incredible compassion and generosity shown by our students every day.
