Making an Impact on Campus Through Community Service

This March, as part of the Character Development Program (CDP), our 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade students completed their in-school hour of community service. Each group was tasked with coming up with their activity and executing it. See below for a few examples.

  • Students wiped down door knobs and cleaned glass windows in an effort to help keep campus as clean as possible.
  • An entire grade made sun butter and jelly sandwiches for a local organization that distributes them to students in need.
  • After researching the Hockessin Clothes Closet, students assembled toiletry bags to support the organization. Each student contributed $5 to purchase bulk toiletry supplies.
  • The Independence Vans were vacuumed and cleaned.

These acts of service are just a glimpse into the incredible compassion and generosity shown by our students every day.
