Introducing the Independence Mini Golf Course

As part of the new Pathfinders in STEM course with Mr. Cloud, kindergarten students recently took on the challenge of dreaming up their own mini golf holes, complete with themes and unique features. Our 7th grade Cardboard Engineers then met with the young designers to hear their visions firsthand before returning to the Innovation Station to construct models using cardboard and basic building materials.

This week, the completed six-hole course was unveiled during an Opening Ceremony and Golf Outing, where kindergarteners had the opportunity to play a round of mini golf. The project highlighted cross-grade collaboration and the application of the engineering design process in an authentic, age-appropriate project.
