Interactive End-of-Year Field Trips
Both the 3rd and 5th grade classes squeezed in a few more field trips before the end of the school year. Last week, our 3rd grade students traveled to the Philadelphia Zoo in Pennsylvania, while our 5th graders visited the Adventure Aquarium in New Jersey.
The 3rd grade trip served as the perfect conclusion to their recent animal research papers, giving students a chance to see the habitats and unique adaptations they studied up close. Meanwhile, the 5th graders connected their trip to their "Life in Fathoms" unit, exploring the deep ocean zones and marine animals they have been reading about in class. Both trips were filled with interactive exhibits, hands-on learning, and a lot of fun!
