Inside Independence’s Winter In-Service Day

Throughout the year, Independence faculty and staff dedicate several days to in-service learning. These days provide valuable opportunities to come together for important meetings, celebrate successes, reconnect as a community, and make meaningful progress on projects that support our school.

While students enjoyed their final day of Winter Break on Monday, faculty and staff were busy on campus. The day began with CPR training and a committee meeting focused on the responsible use of AI. Middle School faculty then met to explore the ease and versatility of video creation using Google Vids and Canva, gaining new tools for classroom assignments, and Lower School faculty spent time refreshing their technology skills with Chromebook tips and tricks.

To conclude the day, we gathered as a full group for a lively trivia session hosted by a local MC. With plenty of challenging questions and friendly competition, it was a fun way to wrap up Winter Break and prepare to welcome students back to campus!
