Our 4th graders recently wrapped up their geology unit by stepping into the shoes of both scientists and storytellers. To celebrate everything they learned, students teamed up to create original newscasts reporting on fictional seismic events. Each group wrote, produced, and starred in their own earthquake-themed news segment, which featured a live interview with a "scientist," as students showcased their understanding of earthquakes. A poster was also created to set the stage and serve as the backdrop for their segment, transforming their classroom into a newsroom.
