CWIL Hosts Parent Workshops on Screen Time and Student Well-Being

Families recently gathered for two engaging CWIL Parent Workshops focused on one of today’s most pressing parenting topics: helping children find balance and thrive in an increasingly digital world.

Led by CWIL team members Mr. Brangs, Mr. Cloud, and Dr. Williams, the sessions offered practical guidance and research-based insights into device use, the social implications of screen time, and the neurological and psychological effects of digital exposure on children and adolescents.

Throughout the workshops, presenters explored how technology shapes developing minds and relationships while sharing strategies families can use to promote healthier habits at home. Parents learned how to set clear expectations around device use, better understand what happens in the brain during screen time, and support their children in building a balanced relationship with technology.

These CWIL Parent Workshops reflect Independence’s ongoing commitment to partnering with families and providing resources that support students’ overall well-being, both in and beyond the classroom.
