Celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month

Ms. Farr's Middle School Spanish classes are recognizing Hispanic Heritage Month by exploring a variety of traditional art forms. Our 6th graders created colorful "hojalata" pieces, crafting Lotería-inspired designs out of tin, 7th graders are crafting intricate molas, and 8th graders are decorating talavera tiles. Their projects are completed as a "glyph," which requires students to use Spanish to guide their artistic choices. This integration of art, culture, and language allows students to tap into their creativity while strengthening communication skills.
