Capstone Evening Showcases the Class of 2026

Does Birth Order Affect Persoanlity?, How Has Automotive Aerodynamic Design Evolved?, Why is "Brainrot" Addictive?—just a glimpse into the wide variety of topics explored by our Class of 2026 for their Capstone Projects, which they presented on Monday night.

This multi-faceted, student-directed, long-term investigative project represents the culmination of every critical aspect of an Independence education. The hallmark program empowers students to think critically and develop essential skills for high school, college, and beyond, including written and oral communication, public speaking, research, media literacy, planning, pacing, and organization.

In addition to Monday night’s presentations, many students also had the opportunity to share their Capstones in the classroom, visiting younger grades when their topics aligned with current areas of study. These moments not only deepened connections across divisions, but also sparked thoughtful questions, and excitement, for what lies ahead.

We commend our 8th graders for their diligent approach to this entire project!
