Another Successful Indy 5k & Color Us Kids Run

The energy was off and running last night at the 17th Annual Indy 5K and Color Us Kids Fun Run!

More than 400 participants, families, and volunteers joined us on campus for the incredible event. A special thank you to our presenting sponsor, Delaware Orthopaedic Specialists, P.A., and to Fusion Racing for organizing the 5K. Race proceeds benefit Independence's First Responders Community Partnership Fund.

Lt. Ray Mullin, Wilmington Police Department, and current Indy parent, reflects on the real-life impact of supporting those who serve. “First responders are often faced with unique challenges that affect everyone at home. The unpredictable hours and risks associated with the job can put a strain on the entire family, especially the children. Knowing that our families are supported matters. The Independence School’s First Responders Community Partnership Fund turns appreciation into meaningful action. As a father and a police officer, I’m grateful to see a school honor first responders in a way that truly supports and benefits our children."

Attendees also had the opportunity to meet and learn from a wide range of local first responders and public service agencies from across the region. Demonstrations and interactive displays highlighted the important work these teams do every day to keep us safe.

We are grateful to our Indy community for making this such a fantastic event!
