At the end of June, Independence alumni gathered in Boston to celebrate 40 years since the very first trip in 1985. Organized by Mr. Prokop, former teacher and one of the original trip leaders, along with alumnae Peggy ‘85 and Kim ‘85, the weekend was filled with classic Boston experiences – a Red Sox game, a walk along the Freedom Trail, and more! Though the event was alumni-led, Independence was thrilled to host the opening night meet-and-greet as more than 50 alums, former faculty, and friends reconnected.

Our community is truly special, proving time and again that the friendships, school spirit, and Patriot Pride formed here create lasting ties that extend far beyond 8th grade. We’re honored to see how this beloved tradition continues to bring Patriots together across generations (and the country!).

Rumor has it another reunion trip may already be in the works for Summer 2027!
