May 7, 2019 e-Newsletter Exploring Outdoor Habitats As the spring weeks progress, our 90-acre campus comes alive with new discoveries! Our youngest learners recently had an opportunity to explore natural outdoor habitats with staff members from Ashland Nature Center. This new program united the expertise of Ashland with our initiative to increase the use of our campus for natural learning opportunities. Ashland staff showed our Early Childhood I students some creatures they found in the creek who will undergo metamorphosis to become insects, and Mrs. Fouracre and Mrs. Principe's young ones were also able to see a blue heron in the pond.
ECI students have also visited the Great Stone Barn area and sections of the creek this year. The children love the water!
On your mark... get set... GO! The 11th Annual Indy 5K & 1-Mile Color Us Kids Run, proudly presented by Delaware Orthopaedic Specialists, will take place Tuesday, June 4 on our campus, with the first race starting at 6:30 p.m. All proceeds support the First Responders Community Partnership, which offers tuition discounts to children of first responders.
