Showcasing Science

Eighth-grade students in Mrs. Copeland and Mrs. Ferrell's science classes have worked since early September researching and testing popular consumer products. On Dec. 3, they presented the outstanding results of their efforts as part of the 2018-19 Consumer Product Showcase. Scientists and engineers from local research groups, along with members of the school community, attended.

The long-term project challenged the students to utilize and demonstrate their abilities in research, critical thinking, writing, design and public speaking. They received valuable feedback from a panel of experts, and all of the visitors took notice of the students' hard work and impressive presentation skills!

By Mrs. Linza Godfrey, School Nurse

'Tis the season… for colds and the flu! Don't you just love when you go to the doctor, he or she prescribes an antibiotic for you or your child - and BAM, you're feeling better in 24 hours? What about when that antibiotic doesn't work? This can happen because of two reasons.

Students throughout all grade levels enjoyed purchasing gifts for their loved ones in this year's Holiday Shop. Thank you to the IPA for putting this joyful event together!
