IPA Lunch Volunteers Needed

The IPA is still in need of lunch delivery volunteers. We welcome parents and grandparents to sign up and spread lunchtime cheer to our students.

2018 Holiday Shop

The Holiday Shop is a fun way for your child to pick out holiday gifts for family, friends and even pets. Students will now have the opportunity to "shop" during their school day from this Wednesday, Nov. 28-Wednesday, Dec. 5. We would love parent volunteers. If you're interested in volunteering, please click here to sign up.

If you would like your child to participate in this fun tradition, complete the following steps:

  • Fill out the online form here and make payment.
  • Print out the Holiday Shop form so your child has a list of who to shop for and send it in to his or her homeroom teacher. On the printed form, fill out the amount that you want your child to spend (in increments of $5) and the people and/or pets for whom they are shopping.

Gifts range in price from $2-$10, and they are high-quality gifts that our secret shoppers have been hunting for all year round! Middle school volunteers will help your child shop, check out and wrap gifts. The gifts will then go home with your child.

Our annual Gift Card Fundraiser is now open! This program allows families to purchase a wide selection of gift cards at face value, and a portion of each gift card goes directly to our school. If every family purchased just $100 in gift cards to their favorite restaurants or retail stores, the IPA could make $2,500 or more! You can use your gift cards for your own holiday shopping or to give as gifts to family, friends, teachers, employees, etc.

PLEASE NOTE: If you would like your gift cards by Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2018, please order by Tuesday, Dec. 4. If you order between Wednesday, Dec. 5-Tuesday, Dec. 11, your gift cards will be available by Tuesday, Dec. 18. You can pick up your gift cards in the Development Office.

  • Send in the paper order form to the Development Office, with cash or check made out to the IPA; OR...
  • Order online and send cash or check made out to the IPA to the Development Office (You do NOT need to link a bank account). Ordering online allows you to see all the products available and the amount the school makes from your purchase.

ORDERING ONLINE: Go to If you do not already have an account, select Join a Program. Enter the enrollment code DFFBDC785581 to register. Create a user name (suggest your first and last name) and password and complete the registration process. You will then be ready to shop!

Today, Tuesday, Nov. 27, we recognize #GivingTuesday, self-described as "a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration." This philanthropic movement promotes the idea of giving back to your local community – through your time, through a monetary contribution or even through the power of your voice.

At Independence, we are so grateful for your support. We cannot emphasize enough how your various contributions help us to maintain the exceptional program we are able to offer your children. As the holidays and end of the year rapidly approach, we sincerely thank all the members of our community who continue to give, and we ask those who haven't yet had a chance to consider doing so.

To donate to Independence, please click here.

Have you checked out our official Alumni page? You can keep up with all the latest news on our talented graduates. If you have your own alumni submission, please fill out the new form on the page or email Tanya Godsey, Alumni Relations Coordinator.
