First Responders Community Partnership Fund
for Children of Full-Time First Responders
As a school whose mission it is to inspire citizenship in its students, Independence is proud to support those who are inspired to serve as first responders for our community. Students who have one or both parents who are actively employed full-time as first responders in law enforcement, fire protection, in a capacity as an emergency medical technician (EMT) or in the armed forces, are eligible to receive a discount of $6,000 toward tuition during each year of enrollment. (The award is prorated for our youngest students attending less than full time.) Specific questions about eligibility should be directed to the Admission Office.
Since Independence was founded in 1978, the school has placed an emphasis on learning, leadership and citizenship through both its mission and program. First responders who elect to help others are exceptional citizens and positive role models for our students.
Parents are also welcome to apply for financial assistance through the Independence Financial Aid program. Applicants must complete the standard admission process for the student as well as the family financial aid application process to determine eligibility. If we are able to make an offer of admission, communication of the financial aid award will coincide as closely as possible to the time of an admission offer if both processes are complete.
Please contact the Admission Office at 302-239-0332 for more information on the First Responders Community Partnership and the admission process. For a confidential conversation about financial aid please contact Donna Sentman, Admission & Financial Aid Manager.
