Lower School

In the journey of learning, these are the most important years of all.

As students grow during the Lower School years of Kindergarten through fourth grade, they are transformed from a little learner to a full-fledged student of the world, even if a youthful one.

Students become more comfortable with the process of learning and are willing and able to apply themselves as they grow to understand that they hold the keys to their own success. Students also begin to realize that, while unique to the world, each exists as an interconnected part of a larger whole. They learn how to engage with others and to grow with positive, caring character.

During these years, students become prepared to realize their dreams with a program that combines an excellent academic foundation, creative expression and self-management. In the early elementary years, lifelong learning habits are established through a foundation that is so much more than the delivery of curriculum. Each student is motivated and challenged at his or her own individual stage of development, thanks in part to our faculty’s deep understanding of how children learn. Students also benefit through the introduction in Lower School of our unique LeApps™ curriculum, which utilizes current brain research to help them understand how learning actually happens.
