Plan Options

We are maintaining the same plan structure from last year. It was necessary, however, to raise the Extended Care rates slightly. The 2008-2009 rate has been raised from $4.35 - $4.50 per hour. If you do not choose to contract hours, you may use the higher drop-in rate of $6.90 per hour.

There are 6 different options to choose the care that best suits your needs.

• The Red Plan is the all–inclusive plan for full day students. If you choose this plan, you will be given a rate that covers all the hours that Extended Care is open including Vacation/ Holidays. (Click on Extended Care Contract to download the form)
• The Blue Plan is the all–inclusive plan for half day students. If you choose this plan, you will be given a rate that covers all the hours that Extended Care is open including Vacation/ Holidays. (Click on Extended Care Contract to download the form)
• The Patriot Plan is a limited use plan for full and half day students. It provides morning care for grades ECI-8 and afternoon care for grades ECI-4. If you choose this plan, you select from the options listed on the Patriot Plan Registration. This plan does not include Vacation/ Holidays. • The Freedom Plan provides flexible afternoon care for students grade 5–8 to encourage and support The Independence School’s sponsored activities. You must pre-register for the Freedom Plan and pay the $40.00 annual administrative fee. This plan does not include Vacation/ Holidays. (Click on Extended Care Contract to download form)
• Drop-in Care is available for $6.75 per hour in 30–minute intervals and you do not need to pre-register. It is extremely important that parents record the time your children leave every day so that billing will be accurate. There will be a minimum charge of two (2) hours for children who are not signed out. Bills will be mailed after the first of each month and are due upon receipt. However, drop-in care is not available on Vacation/ Holidays or Snow Days.
• Vacation/ Holiday Care is available on days when regular school is not in session. Specific dates and times must be chosen. Please also include the Extended Care Vacation/Holiday Registration with your contract. (Click on the appropriate forms)
• Snow Day Care is only available for those students pre–registered for an Extended Care Plan. There is no drop–in care on snow days, early dismissals, or delayed school openings.
  

Extended Care is open from 7:00AM until 6:00PM throughout the year except on some snow days, national holidays, and a few scheduled cleaning days. On Sept.4th, Visit Day for the Early Childhood Division, Extended is not open for ECI through Kindergarten.
