Welcome Independence Alumni

Independence is very proud of its alumni and the strong connection between the school and its former students. We hope that all of you will visit the website frequently to read about your classmates (coming soon) , check out pictures from our alumni events and keep us up-to-date on where you are and what you are doing.

Our Alumni Society Council (ASC) has been very busy planning events, supporting our Buy a Block program, and enhancing communication between the school and the alumni body. Our ASC volunteers are a diverse group of committed alumni from different graduating classes and life experiences. More volunteers are always welcome. If you are interested, please e-mail me.

We hope that we will see you at one of our alumni events. We invite all of our alumni to attend May Fair where you can receive a free t-shirt and, if you like, volunteer at our Alumni Water Ice Booth. In the fall we will hold our Annual Adult Alumni Shindig at McGlynn's Restaurant. This casual gathering takes place on the Thursday before Columbus Day each year. Return to Independence Day, our popular pizza and basketball party for our high school and college age alumni will be held in late December/early January. In addition to supporting our events, our alumni have been wonderful financial supporters of the school. We are currently focusing on our Buy a Block program that allows our alumni to purchase a "block" on our permanent display in Alumni Hall for $25 each. Get yours soon before we wrap up this campaign. When the Buy a Block program closes, we will re-open our Dollar A Year Club. This annual giving program encourages alumni to support the school right from the start by asking you to donate one dollar for each year since your graduation.

Send us your news via e-mail and we will add it to our class notes. We are so proud of all that you have accomplished, and we want to be able to share your news with our whole school family.
