Founders' Library & Catalog

The Founders' Library is an open environment accessible to all students throughout the school day. The library contains 16,000 volumes, including 400 electronic books, and a wide variety of technological resources to serve the students of Independence.

Early Childhood classes visit the library weekly for story time and to check out books. Lower School students in grades 1-3 have scheduled library classes, during which they listen to stories and learn library research skills, while students in grades 4-8 visit the library as needed. Research skills using library resources are taught in conjunction with assigned research projects.
